Clean Tech Delta (CTD) is a privately driven cooperation of internationally operating companies, knowledge institutions and local governments. Our private partners take the lead in recognising and developing new clean tech business. Local governments facilitate this cooperation. As a business minded triple helix organisation, officially established in May 2013, we form a new type of public-private partnership in order to realise new business for our members and attract new funding. We believe that clean tech is the key to adapt to and create a new economy. Using the region as an Urban Living Lab, a place where newly applied clean tech solutions can be tested, we can share the solutions and apply them, on a large(r) scale, abroad. Our ambition is to strengthen the clean tech cluster in our region and to make a significant contribution to the regional economy. In 2020 our cluster will count 4.000 companies, SME’s and start-up’s, which will provide 50.000 jobs.

ENERGIIQ, the Zuid-Holland Energy Innovation Fund offers a wide range of financing instruments that help us to create the right conditions to maximize the growth opportunities of your innovative company. With the fund, we invest in companies that are ready to commercialize their proven energy innovation, resulting in either CO2 reduction or a headquarter, R & D or production site in South Holland. ENERGIIQ, with a size of € 35 million, was made available by the Province of Zuid-Holland with the aim of accelerating the energy transition in the region. InnovationQuarter is the contact point for ENERGIIQ as administrator. As a regional development company for South Holland, we, with our experienced investment team, can add significant value to professional decision making, independent investment committee and access to a substantial network of reputable co-investors, (knowledge) partners and entrepreneurs as a participant

nnovationQuarter is the regional development agency for West Holland. The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) is a unique public private partnership supporting research, technological development and demonstration activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe. Its aim is to accelerate the market introduction of these technologies, realising their potential as an instrument in achieving a carbon-clean energy system. The FCH JU’s has pioneered new developments in FCH technology and brought many of them to the cusp of commercialisation. Market uptake from public authorities, major companies and citizens alike has boosted confidence in these clean technologies, establishing hydrogen as a cornerstone of Europe’s energy transition. The FCH JU has also been instrumental in supporting and forging synergies amongst innovative European SMEs and start-ups, whose productivity and competitiveness benefit all. The leverage effect has been very important – with public money triggering additional private investment. The members of the FCH JU are the European Commission, the industry represented by Hydrogen Europe and the research community represented by Hydrogen Europe Research.

European Innovation Council - SME Instrument

SME Instrument, part of the European Innovation Council Pilot, supports market-creating innovation in small and medium-sized businesses that have significant growth potential and global ambitions. Each applicant SME goes through a rigorous review and selection process: Over 50,000 have applied but less than 6% have been selected. Besides funding, which starts at 50,000 Euros and can grow to 2.5 million Euros, each SME participant receives world-class business coaching, training and support services, from idea development to product launch in the market.
