The UTILE project (the EU-Health Innovation Marketplace) is funded by the EC and aims to analyse the results of all finished Health projects within FP7 and H2020, as well as identify and provide support services to projects with research results with the highest potential for further valorisation and exploitation.

 

UTILE has the pleasure to announce the 3rd Business and Innovation Training Workshop and the UTILE Brokerage Event on October 17th and 18th 2019 in Trieste, Italy, where participating projects will also benefit from free access to connected activities under the MIT4LS2019 framework.

 

FP7 and Horizon 2020 Health and Life Science projects looking for investments and/or partnerships, as well as projects having or that will soon have potential for commercialization of results, are invited to register for the the Event.

 

On the 17 October at 14:30 there will be a Pitching Academy delivered by international experts in interactive environment.

 

The UTILE Pitching Academy in Health Tech specificities will support investment readiness level raising by interactive exchange between the presenters from selected UTILE companies and projects and the experienced coaches, investors and the audience (possible role play), a collaborative, practical and demonstrative exercise that will assist entrepreneurs to develop and improve specific skills according to their needs focused on pitching.

 

On the 18th October at 09:00 – 12:30 will take place a UTILE Workshop Valorisation of Research Results from Healthcare Projects and after that a Pitching Session at 13:30 where selected UTILE projects will have the opportunity to pitch in front of international investors and industry representatives.

 

The Workshop Valorisation of Research Results from Healthcare Projects

 

The panel discussion "Understanding and Raising Venture Capital in Health-Tech Context" will explore how technologies that bring more value to healthcare can match the mandate of venture capitalists and how the latter operate; how investors influence the technologies that make their way into healthcare systems; what capital investors identify as valuable and what is the link with important health needs; the level of congruence between a given health tech venture and the mandate of venture capital.

 

The Business Development and Partnering with Industry panel is designed to attract and to maximise opportunities for interaction, network and business development with potential partners, investors and collaborators and leading business coaches and mentors. The speaker will introduce the topic by interactive presentation, followed by discussion and exchange on concrete cases from the audience.

 

Public Funding theme will be aimed at understanding types and programmes for supporting health-tech projects and companies, as well as specific tools and mechanisms in using public finance.

The 2019 edition of the Meet in Italy for Life Sciences 2019 is promoted and organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Municipality of Trieste with the technical support of CBM and Area Science Park, in collaboration with the ALISEI National Technology Cluster for Life Sciences. The initiative is linked to the Enterprise Europe Network, established by the European Commission in 2008 to support the growth, innovation and internationalization of companies, and particularly SMEs, in over 60 European and non-European countries.
